FAQ's

Why does it appear the item I am ordering is in stock, but when I receive my order it shows it is backordered?

This is perhaps the most frustrating aspect of purchasing online with any company.  Most items available on our website are part of our revolving stock. We try to keep these items in stock at all times at levels consistent with our sales patterns and we have new stock arriving on a weekly basis.  If we normally average 12 unit sales a week on a certain item, we will work to maintain a minimum of 12-15 pieces on hand. However, we can occasionally have a brisk sales week, or a large order by an single customer and our stock may be depleted rapidly.   The Buy Now button will disappear once our stock levels have hit 0, however your shopping cart will be allowed to purchase more than our stock on hand, taking our available stock into a negative, therefore resulting in a backorder.   Click here for more on our shipping and backorder procedures.   If we have substitution options available, we will call or email you with those options.    We work very hard to fill backorders within 7-10 days.  (Hint:  Sunday is our heaviest order day and inventory is allocated by order number, therefore for the largest product selection and lowest chance of backorders, place your weekend order on Saturday!)


Why is the Buy Now button gone on a products page, why do I need to reserve an item?

The Buy Now button will disappear once our stock levels have hit 0.  Once that item has been ordered from our supplier, we will replenish our stock numbers which will re-activate the Buy Now button, and the expected receipt date will be noted in red.  This allows you to order incoming items now and reserve them, orders will not ship until the product has arrived.  Please note that the expected in-stock date is our best guess and is not guaranteed.  Your order status will show -Holding For Stock-.  Sometimes the expected in-stock date will display and the Buy Now button will not be activated, this means we are unsure of the actual arrival date as we have not had a confirmation from our supplier, therefore we are suspending purchases until we have a firm ship date.   If the Buy Now button is not activated, you may email your reserve request to us at info@lottadisplays.com and that item will be held in reserve for you, we will let you know when it is expected in, and once it arrives we will also send you an email notification.  We may sometimes have enough reserve requests and pending orders that our incoming stock may be completely sold even before it arrives, therefore it is important to reserve an item if you are waiting to place an online order pending our receipt of stock.  Incoming stock is allocated first to backorders, second to pending orders and reserve requests, and the balance released to new incoming orders. 


What is your order processing time? Why does my order still show as "pending" even though I placed my order 2 days ago?

We print our orders daily but not on weekends. Once your order is printed, it is updated to a processing status.  If the items on your order are all in stock, we ship UPS orders received by 10am on the same day.  Post office orders are shipped the following day.   You will be notified if your order will not be shipping according to this schedule.

How can I get my order to ship faster?

Please call us directly at (714) 352-0944 if you need your order quickly or by a certain date, that is the only way we can guarantee expedited shipping.  We can process same day shipments until about 1pm Pacific Time.  In some cases we can even ship orders on Saturday via Priority or Express mail, if you find you are in desperate need, send an urgent email request to info@lottadisplays.com, we normally, but not always, have someone monitoring our email for urgent messages on weekends.  (There may be an additional charge for this type of weekend rush service.)


Do you have a minimum order requirement?

We do not have a minimum order requirement, however because of order processing costs, any order less than $10.00 will incur a minimal $0.50 processing fee.


Is your site secure and is my information safe?

Our site is secure and your data is encrypted and password protected. All information entrusted to us is held in the strictest confidence and we do not sell this information to anyone. If you created an account on our site or if you elected to receive newsletters from us and later would like to be removed from our sales list, you can simply email us and let us know.


Do you have a printed catalog?

We do have a full-color catalog that includes a CD price list. If you would like a catalog included with your order, click here and place it in your shopping cart. Because it is a large catalog, it does carry an item weight of 1 pound which will be added to your total shopping cart weight, but you will receive a 25 points credit on your account. You can also order this catalog without making a purchase, however you will need to pay the shipping charges involved. For our acrylics catalog which includes many items not shown on our site click here this catalog does not carry an item weight.


Do you charge sales tax?

We charge sales tax to orders shipping to a California address in the amount of 7.75%. If you will resell the items you are purchasing, please request a blanket reseller's certificate to be included with your order or emailed/faxed to you. Once you have filled it out, signed it and when we have received it back, we can credit the involved sales tax charged.


I have already created an account, why can't I login?

Occasionally some people report problems logging in again even if they have previously created an account. If you have a problem, click on "Password forgotten" on the sign in page to request a new password, and once you have logged in you can create a new password under the "My account" tab.


Are the prices shown on your website your wholesale prices?

The prices shown on our website are intended only for jewelry designers or dealers and other retail merchants. Wholesale pricing is only available to merchants in the jewelry supplies industry and is available only by contacting christine@lottadisplays.com for an application.


What is the "table rate" option shown when I am given my transit choices?

Table rate is provided as an option to buyers in the Continental United States. It varies based on the value and weight of your order. The higher the value, the more we help subsidize your shipping charges. So, instead of paying the regular ground charges, you will pay a discounted rate and we pay the balance, however your order will ship by the most economical means, most often by UPS ground.


What if the actual shipping charges are less than what I was billed when I placed my order?

We bill actual shipping charges, in the event of an order containing a backordered item, we bill what the charges would have been if it had shipped complete (based on weight). On credit card orders, we normally bill your order once we have obtained the shipping charges. On Paypal orders we will refund any excess amount paid, and for orders paid by check, we will either issue a points credit, or send a refund check.


How do I qualify for a free gift and will I have to pay extra for shipping?

We offer a free gift on all orders of $25.00 or more, they do not add any weight to your shopping cart so you do not pay extra for shipping. You can mix and match all you would like, if you place a $100.00 order and would rather have two $25.00 free gifts, and one $50.00 free gift, please feel free to do so! Once you have completed shopping click on SHOPPING CART, and if you have $25.00 or more of value in your shopping cart you will see a list of free gifts towards the bottom of the page that you have qualified for (you may need to scroll down a bit). Just click on ADD NOW. To add multiple gifts to your cart you will need to go to the Free Gifts w/Purchase category shown on the left in the Category box, and add your gifts by clicking on ADD TO CART. We may occasionally need to make substitutions if we have run out of stock and will substitute with an item of equal or greater value. If you have qualified for a free gift but have not added one to your cart we will assume you did not find one that you liked and we normally won't add one to your order (we do sometimes have overstock on some items and may include a sample of one of our products), if you did not add it to your cart because you did not want it to show up on your invoice, just write in your selection in your order comments and we will add the item to your order when shipped and it will not print out on your invoice.
